Communicating American Style

The key to effectively communicating across cultures is understanding, not only of the mechanics of effective communication, but of how our native language and culture effect our communication style.  This 4 part webinar series examines both.

Delivered in English, this intercultural communications skills online workshop is designed for native Spanish speaking professionals who want to better understand American communication styles, and improve their ability to communicate more effectively with Americans in day-to-day situations.  

 

The seminar covers a variety of topics, including:

  • How culture and personality affect communication,

  • Rapport and how to create it with Americans,

  • How to say what you have to say in the way that Americans understand best,

  • How to listen with "American ears" so you understand what an American is really saying as he or she says it,

  • American personality types and communication styles and how to recognize each one,

  • Communicating with each of the basic American personality types,

  • Building rapport and credibility by adapting your style to your situation,

And much more!

When participants finish this one-day workshop they will understand the principles and mechanics of American communication style, and they will have the skills to communicate more effectively with Americans in virtually any situation.
